16MnCr5 characteristics and application:
16MnCr5 is imported steel from Germany, the equivalent of our 16CrMnH steel (refer to GB / T 5216-2004), has good hardenability and machinability, and for larger cross-section parts, heat treatment and surface hardness can get higher wear resistance, low temperature impact toughness is also higher. 16MnCr5 gear steel used by carburizing quenching, mainly for the manufacture of gears, worm gears, seals bushings and other components.

Carbon C: 0.14 ~ 0.19
Si Si: ≤ 0.40
Manganese Mn: 1.00 ~ 1.30
Sulfur S: 0.010 ~ 0.035
Phosphorus P: ≤ 0.035
Chromium Cr: 0.80 ~ 1.10

Heat treatment specifications: 900 ℃ +870 ℃ oil quenching oil quenched, 200 ℃ tempering.
Microstructure: martensite.
